1. Great Smoky Mountains National Park
You’ll be pleasantly surprised to know that you can actually walk right into Great Smoky Mountains National Park from our hotel! We’re just steps away from the trailhead for the Gatlinburg Trail, a pleasant 1.9-mile trail that travels directly to the Sugarlands Visitor Center! The trail runs through the forest along the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River and is relatively flat, making it the perfect hike for families! While hiking along the Gatlinburg Trail, you’ll be treated to beautiful views of the river, which is crossed at one point by a pedestrian foot bridge. Keep your eyes open for the foundations and chimneys of several old homesites along the trail! Once at the Sugarlands Visitor Center, enjoy the natural history exhibits, bookstore, and shop, then head back into town or continue your adventure with several other nearby hikes!
2. Aerial Tramway to Ober Mountain
Another one of the popular destinations within walking distance of our hotel in Gatlinburg TN is the Aerial Tramway to Ober Mountain! This iconic Gatlinburg attraction takes you on a breathtaking 2.1-mile journey from downtown Gatlinburg to Ober Mountain, where you’ll find all kinds of exciting activities, including a mountain coaster, alpine slide, ziplines, and more! The attraction is one of the largest aerial tramways in the nation and features a 1472-foot rise in elevation during its journey, and the highest point off the ground is 300 feet! Two 120-passenger counter-balanced cars depart regularly for this stunning aerial adventure. While you can purchase a tram ticket only, consider the Ober Mountain wristband that includes the tram ride and many of the attractions on the mountain!
3. SkyLift to Gatlinburg SkyPark

This famous chairlift ride takes you on a relaxing ride from the heart of downtown Gatlinburg to 1,800 feet above sea level on the top of Crockett Mountain! The Gatlinburg SkyPark features the SkyBridge, the longest pedestrian cable bridge in North America, as well as an elevated boardwalk and plenty of scenic overlooks!
