Ober Mountain has been one of the most popular destinations in the Smokies for years, and for good reason! When visiting this popular mountain top amusement park, you’ll find a ski resort, indoor ice skating rink, mountain coaster, alpine slide, scenic chairlift ride and more! The cool thing about Ober Mountain is that even if you visit there every year, there is always something new to experience! The latest thrill on the mountain is the Spider Jump, which combines the action of a bungee jump and trampoline! Here are the top 4 things to know about the Spider Jump attraction at Ober Mountain:
1. What to Expect
The Spider Jump attraction at Ober Mountain offers the thrill of bungee jumping, then combines it with the fun of bouncing on a trampoline! Once strapping into your harness, you’ll be able to bounce, flip and soar more than 20 feet through the air! This is your chance to defy gravity and create some amazing memories high above the mountain peaks of the Smokies! The only weight requirements are that guests must weigh between 30 and 220 pounds to participate, making it an exciting activity for both kids and adults!
2. Admission Information
While the Spider Jump is not included as part of the wristband option at Ober Mountain, it can be added for just a nominal fee! There is no admission fee to access Ober Mountain itself, so you can come purchase wristbands for the kids or join in the fun for yourself! The wristbands are a tremendous value as they include the Aerial Tramway, Tennessee Flyer Mountain Coaster, Wildlife Habitat, Ice Skating, Ice Bumper Cars, Scenic Chairlift, Carousel, Rock Wall, Jump Pillow, Summer Tubing, Chair Swings and the Alpine Slide!
3. Ride Restrictions
There are some ride restrictions for the Spider Jump attraction at Ober Mountain, so keep these in mind before purchasing the upgrade to your wristband. The attraction is not recommended for guests with back or neck injuries, history of heart problems, recent surgery or illness, pregnancy, high blood pressure, history or muscular injuries and any other form of physical or medical problems. While bouncing on the Spider Jump, remember that only vertical movements are permitted, no shoes may be worn, and hands must be kept on the bands while jumping!
4. Location of the Attraction
You can access Ober Mountain and the Spider Jump attraction by taking the Aerial Tramway from downtown Gatlinburg, which takes you on a stunning 2.1 mile journey on one of America’s oldest aerial tramways! During your ride in one of the two 120-passenger counter-balanced cars, you’ll experience a 1472 foot rise in elevation and reach heights of 300 feet above the ground! As an alternative to the Aerial Tramway, you can drive to Ober Mountain via Ski Mountain Road. Note that there is a fee to park in the Ober Mountain parking lot.
