These unique attractions combine the elements of a traditional roller coaster with a downhill toboggan run, and the best part is that you get to control the speed of your own ride! 1. What to Expect
The original mountain coaster at Anakeesta is Rail Runner, which opened in 2018 to rave reviews! This ride is the first of its kind in the United States as it features a single rail track with 1,600 feet of downhill twists and turns, and you’ll experience a 400 feet elevation change during your breathtaking journey! Meanwhile, Hellbender opened in 2023 and features its own heart-pounding twists, gravity-defying drops, and jaw-dropping views! Both rides feature carts that are securely attached to a steel track, and each can accommodate up to 2 riders. Whether you want to enjoy a leisurely ride down the mountain or go full throttle, just use the simple brake lever to control your speed!
2. Ride Restrictions and Requirements
Safety is always the top priority on the Anakeesta mountain coaster attractions, so there are a few ride restrictions and requirements to keep in mind! For single riders on the Rail Runner, the maximum weight is 230 lbs and riders must be at least 7 years old and 48” tall. When riding tandem, the combined weight cannot exceed 230 lbs, and passengers must be 3 to 7 years old with a minimum height of 38”. As far as Hellbender, the maximum weight for single riders is 330 lbs and guests must be at least 54” tall. The maximum combined weight for tandem riders on Hellbender is 330 lbs, and front seat passengers must be 38” tall and over 3 years old.
3. Ticket Information
Another one of the top things to know about the Anakeesta mountain coaster attractions is the ticket information! Note that the Rail Runner and Hellbender are not included with the general admission ticket to Anakeesta, but can be added for an additional fee with the Anakeesta Coaster Pass! This convenient pass gives you the freedom to choose your coaster adventure - ride each coaster once to savor the unique twists and turns they offer, or double the fun by riding your favorite coaster twice! Note that individual tickets for the coasters are not available so the Coaster Pass is your exclusive ticket to ride! You can purchase tickets at either the Rail Runner or Hellbender ticket booths once you are on the mountain.
