Bones BBQ Joint was first opened in 2013 by lifelong Gatlinburg resident Jim Ogle. In 2019 Bones BBQ changed hands and now belongs to Jim’s nephew Alex Davis, a well established and highly skilled chef out of Kansas City. Thanks to Alex tossing in some Kansas City style with the original southern style bbq items on the menu, Bones BBQ now offers up dishes that you won’t find anywhere else in the Smoky Mountains.

2. The Restaurant

Bones BBQ Joint is located just a short walk away from the parkway in Gatlinburg and is the perfect spot to grab dinner as you’re exploring downtown. They offer free parking to guests, have a very spacious indoor space, and a large outdoor area as well. The restaurant also has a very rustic and cozy ambiance that is greatly appreciated by guests and that most certainly adds to the dining experience.
